Parents' information on starting at KiTa LindwürmerDear parents,
With your entry into the kindergarden, a new phase of life begins for you and your child. In the spirit of a successful educational partnership, it is important to us that you gain trust in our facility. The basis of trust is reliable information. You are probably wondering what will happen to your child and to you, and many questions will probably accompany you when you entrust your child to our educational staff. We would like to answer these questions - as far as possible - and provide you with important information to make the start easier for you and your child. We also want to give you a first impression of our work.

The team of the day care centre
The Lindwürmer daycare center has 6.6 approved specialist positions, which are divided into full-time and part-time positions. As a rule, 3 professionals are responsible for each group. In addition, interns who are in their training to become educators work in various groups.
Furthermore, school interns are in the house throughout the year. We see the guidance and support of these interns as a welcome enrichment of our daily pedagogical routine, as well as an important core task in order to optimally train future specialists during their training.
To keep the daycare running, we need our housekeeper for the kitchen and our janitor for repairs of all kinds.

Our opening hours
Our facility is open Monday through Friday from 07:30 to 16:30.
Bring and pick up
- Please bring your child to the facility between 7:30-9:00 am. From 7:30-9:00 a.m. the early service takes place, during which all children play together in the Blue Group. After that, the groups split up and go to their respective group rooms.
- Regular pick-up time is available Monday through Wednesday and Friday during the hours of 2:45pm - 4:25pm. If you would like to pick up your child earlier, this is of course possible. In this case we only ask for an announcement. The same applies to pick-up by other persons. If the person is not on the list of authorized pick-up persons, please bring a power of attorney in time. Persons unknown to the Kita should have their identity card ready the first time they pick up their child.
The following should be observed when dropping off and picking up your children:
- When dropping off and picking up, make sure that no child runs out, wait until the entrance door has closed!
- The pedagogical staff's duty of supervision does not begin until you have dropped off your child. It is important that we are aware of the child's arrival.
- The educators' duty of supervision ends as soon as your child and we have noticed you at pick-up.
- Children are not to operate the door opener on their own, please.

What is the settling-in phase like?
When your child comes to the KiTa, the settling in period begins. This takes place in 3 phases and is based on the needs of the child. The goal of our acclimation is to build a secure "bonding relationship". The length of time required depends, among other things, on the individuality of your child, the pattern of his or her attachment relationship, and his or her previous experiences with separation situations.Phase 1 of the settling-in process is the basic phase.
In this phase, your child stays in the group with the parent or another caregiver for about 1 hour. You, as the caregiver, stay in the group room the entire time and take on a more passive role. You should give the child a feeling of security. The focus of this phase is on the play situation. Your child should familiarize himself/herself with the new environment and freely determine his/her play and development activities. The educator seeks contact with the child. During the following days, the educator continues the efforts for a gentle approach to your child. The goal for the child should be to achieve a certain stabilization through the repetition of the situations. Phase 2 of familiarization is the stabilization phase.
During this time, your child makes first experiences with the temporary separation from you. You will leave the group room for a short period of time after informing your child. You should not leave the facility during this phase.
The goal of the stabilization phase is to gradually increase your child's absence from you, up to a half-day stay at the facility. This phase is completed as soon as your child has managed a separation period of 1.5 hours without any problems.Phase 3 of the acclimation is the final phase.
In the final phase, you accompany your child to the group and say goodbye. You no longer need to be in the facility, but you should be available at all times. Your child's acclimation is considered complete when he or she accepts the educator as a "secure base" and allows him or her to comfort him or her. The child can now participate in the day-to-day life of the daycare center.

Cooperation with the parents
Based on our assumption that "Parents are experts and the most important people for your children" and "Educators are the experts of the pedagogical work", it is unthinkable to renounce common ways. The performance and resources of the parents are elementary basic values and foundations that must be recognized and integrated if a child is to be understood in its entirety. We consider the cooperation between pedagogical staff and parents to be an appreciative attitude based on mutual respect. Our goals for a successful educational partnership are:
- Transparency of the pedagogical work: mutual disclosure of the pedagogical approach to the child.
- Agreements regarding educational goals, educational behavior, support of parents.
- Exchange in the form of door-to-door talks, development talks (once a year), parents' evenings, parent information in the form of letters and notices, joint excursions, festivities, etc.

The Parents' Committee
How is the Parents' Committee formed?
The members of the parents' committee and their representatives are elected by the parents and other legal guardians of the children attending the daycare center in a parents' meeting for one year at a time. All parents and other legal guardians whose children attend the daycare center are eligible to vote and to be elected. The parents' committee is elected at a parents' meeting. This usually takes place in September. Parents who would like to be elected are welcome to stand for election. The number of members of the parents' committee is determined by the number of children in care. One person is elected to the committee for every 10 children, with a minimum of three. If possible, all groups of the daycare center should be represented in the parents' committee.
Who is coming together for a meeting and when?
The Parents' Committee shall hold its first meeting within one month after the election and shall elect the chairperson and his/her representative by simple majority. Meetings are held by appointment if there is a need to discuss. A few days before the meeting, the chairperson invites all participants. The sponsor or the management may also request a meeting at any time. The meetings of the Parents' Committee should be attended by a representative of the sponsor and the management of the daycare center. Other persons called in by the parents' committee may also participate in an advisory capacity. Minutes are taken at the respective meeting. These minutes are sent to all parents by e-mail and are then posted on the information board in the front hallway for the information of all parents.
What are the responsibilities of the Parents' Committee?
- Promoting cooperation between the parents and the KiTa team.
- Advisory function in all important decisions concerning the KiTa
- Planning and supporting function for festivals, events and projects
- Contact point for parents with problems in the KiTa everyday life
- Supporting function in raising funds for festivals, etc.
How can you support the Parents' Committee?
- Join the parent committee! Elections are again in October and you are invited to stand for election!
- Bring your ideas to the table! Share them with the parent committee!
- Get involved through active participation! Every participation brings us a bit further, brings us together and helps us to give the children a great time at the daycare!

Closing words
Dear parents,
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the teachers or the management. We will try to accommodate you - within the scope of our possibilities - and find a solution for your concern. Finally, we would like to say that it is essential for us that your children feel comfortable here with us, enjoy coming and have a carefree and happy time at the KiTa. Because your children are the ones who must always be the focus! They are our focus and we want to accompany them a bit on their journey through life. For the development of their self-education processes, every child needs a living environment that on the one hand gives "space" to their autonomy aspirations, but on the other hand also offers them enough security, protection and support. With our pedagogical work we would like to make this possible for your children.Your daycare team
