The Max Kade Foundation, based in New York, places particular emphasis on promoting academic and cultural exchange between Germans and Americans. The foundation supported the construction of the house with a considerable sum.
The house at Bebelstraße 24-26 offers 131 places, of which:
- 98 single flats for 370 € with approx. 19-20 sqm
- 1 flat for students with a child for 420 € with approx. 47 sqm
- 8 groups of four (32 rooms) for 370 € each with approx.12-14 sqm each
- 24 underground parking spaces for 25.00 Euro / month each
- The deposit to be paid is a uniform 650.- Euro.

Applications for this residence can be submitted throughout the year. The move-in dates are 01.03. and 01.09. of each year. All applications submitted by 01.02. and 01.08. take part in the allocation process for the respective semester.
